Nathan grew up with one older brother, Rod and two younger sisters, Shelley and Melissa. Both of Nathan's sisters are adopted from Korea. Nathan attended high school at Shoreland Lutheran High School, just outside Kenosha, Wisconsin. It was during high school that Nathan decided to become a pastor.

Nathan went to Northwestern College in Watertown to study for the ministry and graduated in 1993. He continued his studies for the pastoral ministry at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, just north of Milwaukee. Upon graduating from the seminary, Nathan was assigned by the Wisconsin Synod to serve Bethel in Galesville and also Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Holmen. In March of 2002 Pastor Strutz and his family moved to Galesville and began serving Bethel in Galesville and Arcadia full time.

In July of 1995, Nathan was married to Elizabeth Wierschke of Green Bay, Wisconsin. The couple has two sons, Caleb, born May 3, 1999 and Elijah, born Septembenr 4, 2001.

• Providing free, confidential counseling for anyone requesting it.
• Providing biblical instruction for adults free of charge.
• Providing baptism for children, whether or not they are members of our congregation.
• Providing teaching for children to be confirmed.
